20% of respondents to the survey indicated that they pay their salespeople $110,000 to $119,000. Of that group, 26% have annual revenues of $30 million or more. 18%, however, had $1 million to $4.9 million annual sales in 2014.
In general, outside sales compensation aligned with their company’s annual revenues—including, one respondent with sales of under $1 million in 2014 paying its outside sales reps less than $30,000 per year.
Nearly the same number of respondents—20%—reported paying sales reps between $30,000 and $39,000, as did those reported paying $40,000 to
$49,000, and those paying $100,000 to $119,000.
