Alexander Lumber Acquires Nagle Lumber

AURORA IL. — Alexander Lumber, a privately held 125-year-old company with 20 locations in Illinois and southern Wisconsin, announced today the acquisition of Nagle Lumber Alexander LumberCompany in Iowa City, Iowa. Nagle Lumber, founded in 1922 and an institution in the Iowa City market, has been owned and managed since 1994 by Carlan Miller and Jeff Maske. Nagle Lumber is a supplier of lumber, windows, millwork, cabinets and decking to the Iowa City-area builders, contractors and landlords.

“Alexander Lumber has been looking for high quality companies that will allow us to grow, while at the same time diversify our business outside of the Illinois economy that has been our traditional base of business,” said Russ Kathrein, President and CEO of Alexander Lumber. “Iowa City is a dynamic market, and the Nagle Lumber team is comprised of high caliber and enthusiastic people who will fit right into the Alexander Lumber culture.” The Iowa City location will operate under the Alexander Lumber name.

“We are excited about the opportunities that Alexander Lumber and their strategic vendor partners will bring to our employees and our customers,” said Jeff Maske, who will stay with the new company in a leadership role. “The investment that Alexander Lumber is planning on making in our team, our equipment and future facilities will ensure that we remain the primary supplier to builders and project consumers in the Iowa City Market.”
