Tell your Representative to Vote Against NLRB Action
Washington, DC – In the coming days, the U.S. House of Representatives will vote on the Senate’s resolution of disapproval expressing their discontent with the procedures that the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has issued. Congress is displeased with the NLRB proposal to change union election procedures, also known as the “ambush election” rule. [glossary]S.J. Res.8[/glossary] sends a strong message to the White House that Congress does not support this NLRB rule.
Dealers MUST contact their Members of Congress and urge them to vote in favor of S.J.Res. 8 when it comes to the floor! The NLRB’s ambush election rule will prove harmful to dealers’ ability to create jobs. It will severely hamper the rights of employers to make their views on organizing and collective bargaining known. It also prevents employees from making a fully informed choice on a matter that will impact them and their families for years.
NLBMDA has signed on to a multi-industry letter from the Coalition for a Democratic (CDW) workplace sent to all members of the House of Representatives urging them to vote for [glossary]S.J.Res .8[/glossary]. [glossary]NLBMDA[/glossary] is a member of CDW, which is one of five groups appealing the ambush election rule in federal court.
