PHOENIX—Capital Lumber Company, which began its partnership with LP a year ago by offering LP SolidStart engineered wood products at its Chino, California distribution center, has added LP SmartSide to its offerings as well.

The Phoenix, Arizona-based company saw solid growth with LP’s EWP line since taking it on last year, which led them to give SmartSide a try in Chino, as well as in Phoenix.

“Their ultimate goal is to be an ‘all things LP’ distributor,” LP Channel Manager Daniel Hines said.

Capital is stocking the SmartSide line as well as pre-finished SmartSide from Northwest Factory Finishes.

“The material has hit the ground and the first sales have already gone out the door as Capital is a well-respected distributor in this market and looked at as a true partner,” Daniel said.

Capital General Manager Grant Pearsall and Sales Manager Joe Allotta have been extremely involved in the launch of the product and are excited about the opportunities for growth that SmartSide brings, he added.

LP Territorial Sales Manager Mike Bergfeldt, Senior District Sales Manager Ryan Mitchell and Associate Market Development Manager Trip Malopsy are also working with Capital to make the product expansion a success.

Capital Lumber Company was founded in 1948 and has eight regional distribution facilities geographically focused in the West. It offers sales, market development, inventory management and distribution services within the building materials industry.
