Fire Leaves Millions in Damages at New Hampshire Lumberyard

Northland Forest Products fireMillions in damages were sustained in a weekend fire at a New Hampshire lumberyard.

Northland Forest Products in Kinston, N.H., left the following message on its company website over the weekend:

Dear Valued Customers of Northland Forest Products,

As reported in the attached news link below, the fire that occurred at our Kingston, New Hampshire lumberyard on early Saturday morning caused heavy damage. Our thermal modification oven, pre-dryer, secondary inspection building as well as three forklifts and many other pieces of equipment were destroyed in the blaze. Thankfully, no one was seriously injured in the fire.

All of us at Northland Forest Products are determined to get our Kingston lumberyard back to full production as soon as possible. In the meantime, we will do our very best to work through the current production challenges and serve your lumber needs in a timely manner. As always, our focus will remain squarely on our customers’ needs as we work hard to return our Kingston operation to full capacity.

Finally, we are extremely grateful for all of the messages of support and encouragement that we have already been receiving. We will indeed draw strength from the great fraternity that characterizes our industry.

WFXT reports that the fire broke out at around 1 a.m. Saturday and continued burning well into the morning. Officials on the scene told reporters that one firefighter was hospitalized with heat exhaustion.
