Grand Forks Area Lumberyards Transition to Next Generation

Crookston Building Center in Crookston, N.D., and Dakota Valley Lumber in Grand Forks, N.D. have new owners who are plenty familiar with the business. As Wesley Cameron retires, sons Justin and Jarid Cameron are taking over the family business, the Grand Forks Herald reports.

The elder Cameron purchased the Crookston Building Center in 1988 when it was then known as Robertson’s Lumber, where he had worked for 16 years. In 1994, he opened Dakota Valley Lumber in Grand Forks. Justin and Jarid have been working with their father since they were 14 years old.

Wesley Cameron told the Herald that he plans to continue working as a consultant for the business. The brothers plan to share duties, with Justin leading the Crookston store and Jarid running the Grand Forks location.
