The lumberyard will help Mead Lumber serve the McPherson, Salina and north central Kansas market, the Salina Journal reports. The property previously housed a ProBuild location.

Based in Columbus, Neb., Mead Lumber now operates 41 locations in Nebraska, Colorado, Oklahoma, Wyoming, Montana, South Dakota and Kansas. Facilities include lumberyards, hardware stores, home centers, rental centers, countertop and millwork fabrication facilities, and truss plants.

“Kansas is a market we want to continue to grow into, and the Salina market fits right in our wheelhouse,” said Ryan Rudd, regional manager for Mead Lumber told the Journal. The Salina store will open after remodeling is complete in the spring.

A member of the LBM Century Club, Mead Lumber was established in 1910.
