Question 4
Some companies view social media as a total waste of time and money, while others view it as an indispensable marketing tool. How would you describe your company’s business strategy when it comes to Social Media?
Responses:
“Social media is another form of advertising. We can get information out to a lot of folks and as of now, it is free. It’s nice to see beautiful kitchens, decks etc. out on social media. We are really trying to post each day about our products or about happy customers’ projects.”
“We use social media to make customers aware of items we stock for sale. Also what we can order and manufacture for them. Our company recently started stocking ammunition, so we posted on Facebook and offered a give-away if they ‘like & share’.”
“Word of mouth has always been our best source of business. However as the younger generation of contractors and homeowners enter the market, they are using social media much more. ”
“We do it because everyone else does.”
“Town too small to waste time on it.”
“It’s a necessary element of our marketing efforts. To attract the next generation(s) we have to be active on social media. Our strategy is to incorporate it into every marketing and advertising effort we conduct.”
“For us, it’s another way to connect with and inspire our clients. Each social media tool speaks to a specific client persona, so we tailor our message to match our audiences. The ROI on social media might not be as linear as we would like it to be, but you cannot argue with the amount of impressions your brand receives.”
“We see value in tying it to our other online, print, and radio advertising. We have a mixed customer base of pro and consumer, our Facebook ads are focused primarily but not exclusively on our consumer customers.”
“I don’t really like that we have to spend time/money to deal with it. However, I realize that it is a relatively important part of business today.”
