Bob is owner and president of a Dallas-based full-service remodeling company focusing on mid-range and upper-end remodeling products. Moisan Remodeling also works as a subcontractor for multiple general contractor firms in the Dallas area and surrounding communities, either to frame their projects, or to install interior millwork.

Q: In order of importance, what are the top three things you look for from a supplier?
A: Quality, service and price.

Q: Describe your best LBM vendor and why they are the best.
A: Ivey Lumber in Dallas. They provide great service on a very timely basis. I don’t have to worry about the quality of the lumber they bring to my jobsite and they know who I am and who my crew members are when we walk in the door.

Q: When was the last time you changed vendors & why?
A: I have been using the same vendor for my building materials for more than 20 years. The previous reason I switched was when my office location changed from one side of town to the other side.

Q: When and why would you accept a meeting from a new supplier/vendor?
A: If a new NARI member wanted to talk to me, I would be open to a meeting. The only reason I would change would be if my current supplier made a habit of letting me down and I didn’t have any other choice but to try someone new.

Q: What is the number one problem that keeps you up at night?
A: It depends. When times are slow it is keeping my crews busy. When times are crazy busy, it is keeping track of all the jobs and scheduling the crews properly so that I can take care of all my customers.

Q: What do you see as your biggest opportunity?
A: My biggest opportunity would be the chance to grow the company by adding quality employees to the stable workforce that I have had for most of the last 15 years. This would give me some new people to help carry on the reputation that we have built up in the community.

Q: What do you wish LBM suppliers understood about your business?
A: That every piece of lumber is important to us. Every timely delivery helps us to keep the project moving forward to help keep us on schedule. Sometimes the delivery crews do not understand what the salesman at the order desk does about our projects.

Q: What building products (if any) do you buy installed?
A: None that I can think of. I have a very highly skilled crew of carpenters that can handle just about anything that I can throw at them.
