US LBM to acquire GBS Building Supply

U.S. LBMUS LBM Holdings, LLC  announced Tuesday its intent to acquire GBS Building Supply of Greenville, S.C, from its employee shareholders. The acquisition is expected to close on October 5, 2015.  The announcement marks US LBM’s third acquisition news this month.

GBS President and CEO Bob Barreto will continue leading the company’s day-to-­day operations with his existing team.

GBS operates six locations across the Carolinas supplying windows, doors, stone, roofing, siding, millwork, lock hardware, columns, trim, mouldings, cabinetry, countertops, decking & railing, gypsum, lumber & plywood, insulation, and other building materials. In addition, GBS Building Supply operates a custom molding & millwork center and offers kitchen design services and floor system design.

US LBM is a collection of building material distributors across North America operating 165 locations in 22 states. It is the third largest building products distributor in the United States.

Earlier this month, US LBM acquired Trantow Building Center of Merrill, Wis. and cabinetry company Gold & Reiss of Brooklyn, N.Y.
