Eighty Four, Pennsylvania — 84 Lumber, announced that the 27th Annual Joe Hardy/84 Lumber Golf Invitational benefiting the Westmoreland/Fayette County Council of the Boy Scouts of America raised $128,884.84 this year.
The invitational was held August 27-29 at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort, and was attended by more than 200 vendor partners, 84 Lumber associates, and representatives from the Westmoreland/Fayette County Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Over the past 27 years, with the help of 84’s vendor-partners, the invitational has raised more than $2 million for the southwestern Pennsylvania council, which counts more than 8,000 area residents as scouts, scouting volunteers, or employees of the council.
During the August 27 reception dinner, 84 Lumber also announced Sumner, Washington-based Metrie as its Vendor of the Year. The manufacturer and distributor of interior mouldings and doors was selected as a result of its commitment to the 84 Lumber partnership through dedicated support and quality products.
“The 84 Lumber team considers its vendors to be more than just business associates. They are our friends,” said Maggie Hardy Magerko, Owner and President of 84 Lumber. “It’s very humbling and gratifying to be able to count on the support of those friends year after year to raise funds for these young scouts. We’re so grateful to our vendors, and proud to continue our long-standing relationship with the Scouts.”
