A residential building products manufacturer plans to expand its Kingston, N.C. location. Associated Materials is investing $4.5 million over the next three years into a facility expansion that will create 72 jobs for the area, AreaDevelopment.com reported Monday.
Associated Materials’ North Carolina workforce also includes 62 positions at locations in Charlotte, Fayetteville, Greensboro, Raleigh and Wilmington, reports WNCT. The average salary of the new jobs will be $32,222 per year plus benefits, slightly more than Lenoir County’s average annual wage of $32,164.
In return for their investment, the Ohio-based company has been approved for a One North Carolina Fund performance-based grant of up to $200,000, which requires a local match, the Triangle Business Journal reports.
Associated Materials manufactures and distributes exterior residential building products to buyers across the U.S. and Canada. The company provides exterior products including vinyl windows, vinyl sliding, vinyl railing and fencing, aluminum trim coil, aluminum and steel siding and related accessories.
“We are very excited to announce this expansion at our facility in Kinston, NC. Our investment in this facility will create opportunities for those in the area looking for good, full-time manufacturing jobs,” said Bill Topper, Executive Vice President of Operations, for Associated Materials, LLC. He added that “Associated Materials would like to thank North Carolina’s Commerce Department for its support of the project, as well as the local support from Lenoir County and the City of Kinston, and others that came together to help this expansion move forward.”
