Q: What sets your company apart?
A: I think what sets us apart is our ability to customize homes in the lower end of the move-up market.
Q: Describe your current LBM supplier, and why you buy from them?
A: Our current supplier is Mead Lumber, in Cheyenne, Wyo. We buy from them because of the price and the broad range of service that they offer. A few years ago Mead started to supply roofing and drywall materials, snapping the strangle hold that traditional suppliers of these products had on the market.
Q: In order of importance, what are the top three things you look for from a supplier?
A: The top three things we look for are 1) Service to the jobsite 2) Consistency of pricing, and 3) A broad range of service— this could be anything from roofing materials to a door shop, or other things that their business includes.
Q: Describe your best vendor and why they are the best.
A: I would consider Redstone Heating our best vendor. They supply Bryant heating and cooling systems. The reason they’re the best is because they always show up on time, they always get the job done, and they are always consistently priced.
Q: When was the last time you changed vendors & why?
A: I changed our window vendor about a year ago. We changed because of the poor service that we received from our existing vendor. They were not very responsive and the quality was not as good as the new vendor’s.
