CSA Announces First Female Board Chair & 2015 Board

TYRONE, Ga. – The Construction Suppliers Association is kicking off 2015 with its first female board chair, Ida Ross Swift Hicks, and its newly merged board of directors. CSA merged with the Mid South Building Material Dealers Association last July and its 2015 board reflects this merger with representatives from CSA’s new territory: Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi.

An active CSA board member since 2011, Swift Hicks is president of Swift Supply Company, a sixth generation building material supplier with five locations in Alabama and one location in Florida. Swift Hicks has worked in the family business since 2003, doing everything from counter sales to assisting the general manager. She is currently working alongside her father, David Swift, Sr., chairman and chief executive officer. In addition to being a CSA board member, Swift Hicks is actively involved in CSA’s Disc 1 roundtable for large, multi-yard LBM operations and CSA’s Next Generation Group, a peer-to-peer learning group for family businesses.

When asked what Swift Hicks wants to accomplish as board chair in 2015, she stated, “I really want to focus on strengthening the relationships CSA has acquired through its merger with the Mid South Building Material Dealers Association. We’ve got new members in Louisiana and Mississippi and I want them to feel included in the organization and realize that state boundaries don’t matter. We are one organization now and it’s important to not only support one another but to learn from one another as well.”
