Guardian Opens New Cordele Distribution Center

Guardian Building ProductsGreenville, S.C. — Guardian Building Products has opened its newest distribution center in Cordele, Ga. The larger center replaces GBP’s existing facility in Cordele. The new location, with an approximate 200-mile service radius, serves customers north to Macon, Ga.; south to Perry, Fla.; west to Dothan, Ala.; and east to Savannah, Ga.

At 40,000 square feet, the new center has more than double the inside storage capacity of the former facility. Outdoor storage has also increased significantly with more than an acre and a half of storage space available. New racking, lighting, and outdoor improvements were also added prior to GBP’s move into the facility.

“This move not only greatly improves the service we can provide customers, but changes the face of this branch,” said Branch Manager George Davis. “What was once considered a small satellite branch of our larger southeastern branches is now a standalone branch with a significant stocking position. We are now able to deliver to customers in the next business day, rather than waiting for a transfer from a larger GBP facility.”
