Wayne, Penn. – Lumbermens Merchandising Corporation (LMC) Dealers gained market share and hit new heights in 2016, LMC’s President John Somerville announced during the group’s recent annual meeting in New Orleans. LMC year-end dealer purchases exceeded $3.8 billion—a 13.4% increase compared to 2015.
“This represents an all-time record year in the history of our co-op,” Somerville said.
Nineteen new stockholder companies joined LMC in 2016 while existing dealers added 32 new locations to their ranks. The collective retail sales of LMC dealers now stands at $12.4 billion, higher than the total sales of the larger national chains combined.
The strong numbers contributed to a strong annual meeting as well.
“This place blows you away. It’s amazing, the attention to detail and the environment. LMC knows what we are asking for and what to give us. Classes, seminars—so much to take back. This is a great partnership.” said James Rydmark of Canby Builders Supply.
“LMC dealers are positioned well for capturing growth.” Somerville stated, “Going forward we plan to better utilize our collective power to help each of our dealers grow their business, to be the most competitive and most reputable and trustworthy source of information and products in the industry.”
