Western Building Material Association names new officers
Trent Withers of Withers Lumber Company in Woodburn, Ore. was elected President of Western Building Material Association at its 115th Annual Convention and Building Products Showcase held November 7-9, 2017 in Marysville, Wash. Western Building Material Association is a regional trade association serving the building material industry in the states of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington.
Withers is President of Withers Lumber Company, a family business spanning three generations. However, our 2018 President was almost not in the lumber business. His father was the second generation President of the company and he kind of expected his eldest son to follow in his footsteps. He son had other visions and moved to Los Angeles. Given time, in 1987 the son returned to the family business and when the father retired in 1998 the son was ready. Today Withers Lumber Company has three locations with 35 employees. Trent Withers’s grandfather; Lee Withers, was one of the original Directors of the WBMA and longtime general manager; Roger Fouts was the WBMA President in 2000.
